Walter Surface Technologies, a PE-backed metalworking and safety solutions provider, has acquired Allegro Industries, a U.S.-based manufacturer and distributor of safety equipment and respirators. CriticalPoint Partners advised Walter on the transaction; Walter is backed by ONCAP (the middle-market platform of ONEX) and is executing the deal as an add-on to expand its safety/PPE capabilities and product offering.

TA Associates has signed a binding agreement to acquire Surfaces Group, the Italy-headquartered global supplier of abrasive tools and consumables, from private equity firm Astorg. Surfaces Group, based in Cenate Sotto, Italy, generates over €100 million in sales, employs more than 500 people across 13 production plants and multiple international subsidiaries, and the deal is expected to close in Q4 2020 subject to customary conditions.

Alfar Capital and Walter Capital Partners completed a transaction valued at over $100 million to acquire MSP Corp and simultaneously merge it with Groupe Access, creating a coast-to-coast Canadian managed-services platform under the MSP Corp name. The combined entity will be majority-owned by Alfar and Walter, with BDC Capital retaining a minority stake and management/employees holding more than 10%; the new platform will be led by former Groupe Access CEO Habib Malik.
