Chicago-based private equity firm CORE Industrial Partners acquired CGI Automated Manufacturing, a precision sheet metal fabrication provider based outside Chicago. CORE plans to partner with CGI's management to accelerate automation and digitization, expand geographic reach and manufacturing capabilities, and pursue complementary add-on acquisitions.

CGI Automated Manufacturing, a CORE Industrial Partners portfolio company, has completed the acquisition of Elite Manufacturing Technologies, a precision sheet metal fabricator based in Bloomingdale, Illinois. The deal is the sixth add-on to the CGI platform and expands CGI's in-house sheet metal, electro-mechanical assembly and design-engineering capabilities across gaming, medical, telecommunications and other end markets.
