Facebook’s Oculus Studios has acquired Sanzaru Games, a veteran VR game developer. The studio will join Oculus Studios while operating independently out of its existing U.S. (and Canadian) offices, with the majority of Sanzaru’s staff moving to Facebook to continue building VR game content.

The deal (aggregate purchase price $4.8 million) combines Synthesis VR's location-based VR software, content store and ~300 operator customers with Fantasy 360's UNCONTAINED Immersive Entertainment Platform to accelerate platform and capability expansion in the LBVR market.

Solotech Acquires XR Studios

Solotech, a global audiovisual and entertainment technology company, has acquired XR Studios, a Los Angeles–based extended reality and virtual production agency. XR Studios will continue to operate as a separate brand and join Solotech's new Media and Entertainment Technology (MET) Division to expand Solotech's virtual production, XR and live-streaming capabilities. The deal is supported by Solotech's shareholders Claridge, Desjardins Capital and Investissement Québec.

The deal expands Dynepic's immersive training feature set — avatars, identity management, real-time voice, physics and locomotion — enabling rapid creation of collaborative 3D training experiences.
