Austin-based private equity firm CenterGate Capital has made an investment in Mid-State Industrial Maintenance, a Lakeland, Florida-based provider of on-site and off-site industrial maintenance and fabrication services. The investment will provide capital and strategic resources to support Mid-State's capability growth and geographic expansion across the southeastern United States, while CEO Jeff Clyne will continue to lead the company and serve on its board.

Partners Group Acquires Systems Maintenance Services (SMS)

Partners Group has agreed to acquire Systems Maintenance Services (SMS), a Charlotte-based global provider of IT hardware support and data center lifecycle services, from funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners and Summit Partners. SMS, which reported roughly $245 million in 2015 revenue and employs over 900 engineers across 100+ service centers, will work with Partners Group to expand its global footprint and service portfolio both organically and through add-on acquisitions.

The acquisition expands ONCAP's presence in industrial services and adds capabilities and geographic coverage across the Southeast and Midwest U.S., where Mid-State serves utilities, chemical processing, building products, food & beverage and renewables customers.

Massey Capital Acquires SMS Machine Tools Limited

Toronto-based private equity firm Massey Capital, in partnership with industry executive Craig Collison, has acquired SMS Machine Tools Limited, a long-established distributor and servicer of CNC machines serving Ontario and Quebec. Existing management will remain in place—Brian Smith as President and Craig Collison as General Manager—while Massey partner Scott Newhouse will join as CEO as the firm looks to grow the business over the long term.

FalconPoint Partners Acquires SMS (Scrap Metal Services)

The deal positions FalconPoint to scale SMS's commercial capabilities and expand operations across the United States, Europe and South America while preserving SMS's management team and safety-first service model.
