Pixelle Specialty Solutions Acquires Specialty Paper Mills from Verso Corporation

Pixelle Specialty Solutions, the Lindsay Goldberg‑backed specialty paper platform, agreed to acquire Verso Corporation’s specialty paper mills in Jay, Maine (Androscoggin) and Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The deal, announced in November 2019 and completed in February 2020, expands Pixelle’s production capacity and establishes it as the largest specialty papers producer in North America by annual tonnage.

Pavion (formerly Corbett Technology Solutions), a Wind Point Partners–backed provider of fire, safety, security and critical communications solutions, has acquired Security Source, a video-based security and loss-prevention integrator serving multi-location national customers. The acquisition, Pavion's fourteenth since partnering with Wind Point, expands Pavion's national account security integration and service capabilities for enterprise retail, QSR and financial-services customers.

H.I.G. Capital Acquires Pixelle Specialty Solutions

H.I.G. Capital, through an affiliate, has completed the acquisition of Pixelle Specialty Solutions Holding LLC, a North American manufacturer of specialty papers and sustainable packaging substrates. The transaction was a sale by Lindsay Goldberg; Pixelle will continue operating its multiple paper mills across the United States under H.I.G.'s ownership to support the company's next phase of growth.

Appvion Acquires Nekoosa Coated Products

Appvion, a portfolio company of Wynnchurch Capital, announced the addition of Nekoosa Coated Products, LLC to its platform as part of an investment by Wynnchurch. Nekoosa, headquartered in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, is a manufacturer of specialty engineered papers, films and application tapes previously owned by Sentinel Capital Partners; financial terms were not disclosed.

Wynnchurch Capital Acquires Appvion's Thermal Coating Business

Wynnchurch Capital has acquired the thermal coating business assets of Appvion Holding Corp., a long-established provider of direct thermal coatings and renewable, fiber-based packaging solutions. The transaction, terms not disclosed, transfers Appvion's thermal coating operations (headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin) to Wynnchurch, which said it will invest to drive growth and capitalize on tailwinds in labels and packaging.
