Hyperion Capital Partners completed the acquisition of United Cabinet Company, LLC (dba Kabinart) from the Murray family. Kabinart, a Nashville-based manufacturer of premium semi-custom and custom cabinets for the high-end residential market, will remain under existing management with financing provided by Oxer Capital and Salem Investment Partners.

Salt Creek Capital Acquires Builders Cabinet

Salt Creek Capital, a San Francisco Bay Area private equity firm, has acquired Builders Cabinet, Inc., a Chicago-based designer, manufacturer and installer of premium and semi-custom cabinetry serving the greater Chicagoland market. Founder and president Brian Benner prepared for retirement as part of the transaction; VP Brian Benner (owner) will transition out and Ben VanDixhorn will continue as vice president to support growth under Salt Creek's ownership.

Wellborn Forest (HCI Equity Partners) Acquires De Pere Cabinet, Inc.

Wellborn Forest, a portfolio company of HCI Equity Partners, acquired De Pere Cabinet, Inc. (DCI), a family-owned manufacturer of semi-custom framed cabinetry based in De Pere, Wisconsin. The acquisition expands Wellborn Forest’s geographic footprint into the Upper Midwest, diversifies its customer base, and adds the Countryside Cabinets product line to its offerings; financial terms were not disclosed.

Dovetail Brands (Ambassador Enterprises) Acquires Grabill Cabinets

Dovetail Brands, an affiliate of Ambassador Enterprises, acquired the business of Grabill Cabinets in Q4 2021. The deal brings Grabill Cabinets into Dovetail's home-interior platform while preserving local leadership—former owners David Carnahan and Martin Heiny will remain in leadership roles and the company will continue operations in Grabill, Indiana with its ~130+ employees.

Platinum Equity Acquires The Cabinetworks Group

Platinum Equity has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire The Cabinetworks Group from American Industrial Partners, GIC and other equity holders. Cabinetworks is the largest independently owned U.S. manufacturer and distributor of kitchen and bath cabinets, operating multiple manufacturing and component facilities and employing approximately 8,000 people; Platinum plans to grow the business organically and via M&A.

Kith Kitchens (Pfingsten Portfolio) Acquires Mouser Custom Cabinetry

Kith Kitchens, a portfolio company of private equity firm Pfingsten, has acquired Mouser Custom Cabinetry, a manufacturer of semi-custom and custom kitchen and bath cabinets based in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The add-on acquisition (closed December 31, 2020) expands Kith's product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities to better serve remodeling and new construction customers.
