Arlington Capital Partners Acquires Pegasus Steel

Arlington Capital Partners, a Washington, D.C.-area private equity firm, has acquired Pegasus Steel LLC, a heavy steel fabricator that supplies large-scale structures for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. Pegasus will serve as a new platform for Arlington as management, led by Founder & CEO Tony Deering, remains in place to scale the business to meet naval shipbuilding demand.

The deal is Arlington's first platform investment from its oversubscribed $6 billion Fund VII; Pond is headquartered in Peachtree Corners, Georgia and employs more than 850 professionals across 21 offices. DC Capital Partners, which held a majority stake since 2019, sold the business.

The Sterling Group and Capitol Meridian Partners have agreed to acquire PrimeFlight Aviation Services from funds managed by Carlyle in a 50/50 partnership; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal is expected to close by Q3 2023. Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, PrimeFlight operates roughly 235 stations globally and employs about 12,000 people, providing ground handling, fueling, deicing, GSE maintenance and other airport services to airlines, airports and cargo operators.
