Casey's Acquires Buchanan Energy (Bucky's Convenience Stores)

Casey's General Stores (NASDAQ: CASY) announced the closing of its acquisition of Buchanan Energy, owner of Bucky's Convenience Stores, adding 94 stores and deepening Casey's Midwest presence, notably in Nebraska and Illinois. The deal increases Casey's owned and operated stores to over 2,300 units; Casey's will divest six stores as required by an FTC consent order.

Majors Management (MAPCO) Acquires 35 Circle K Retail Fuel and Convenience Store Locations

Majors Management, operating under its MAPCO brand, has completed the acquisition of 35 retail fuel and convenience store locations across Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania from Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (Circle K). The divestiture — required by an FTC consent order — will see the sites rebranded as MAPCO, preserve jobs where possible, and bring MAPCO's MYReward$ loyalty program and local investments to new markets.

Casey's Acquires Wow! Foodmart Retail Portfolio in Central Kentucky

The Kent Cos. Acquires Jack's Convenience Stores

The Kent Cos., a family-owned Midland, Texas convenience-store operator, has acquired eight Jack's Convenience Stores in West Texas (Midland, San Angelo and Abilene). The acquired locations will be rebranded to Kent Kwik, updated to sell Chevron- or Texaco-branded fuels and integrated into Kent's network to strengthen its West Texas presence.

Monfort Cos. (7E CO Holdings) Acquires 19 Chisholm Corner Convenience Stores

Denver-based 7E CO Holdings LLC, a division of Monfort Cos., acquired a 19-store portfolio of gas and convenience stores operating as Chisholm Corner across southwest Oklahoma (and one location in Wichita Falls, Texas). The seller was Brent Bostick of Bostick and Associates; financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction expands Monfort's multi-state convenience-store footprint.

MacEwen Petroleum Acquires Quickie Convenience Stores

MacEwen Petroleum Inc. acquired the business assets of Quickie Convenience Stores Corporation, adding 51 convenience stores (including 22 gas stations) in Eastern Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec to its network. The Quickie chain was sold by long-time co-owners Arnold Kimmel and Larry Hartman; MacEwen said it will invest in modernizing the stores and expanding the Quickie brand across its footprint.
