Baker Hughes and Akastor Form HMH

Baker Hughes' Subsea Drilling Systems business and Akastor ASA's wholly owned MHWirth have merged to form HMH, a global offshore drilling equipment company jointly owned (50/50) by Baker Hughes and Akastor and effective October 1, 2021. HMH is headquartered in Amsterdam with major operational centers in Houston, USA and Kristiansand, Norway, combining product and service portfolios to deliver offshore drilling equipment and pursue energy-efficient solutions and adjacent-market opportunities such as renewables and mining.

The Drilling Company of 1972 A/S (Maersk Drilling) and Noble Corporation have entered into a definitive agreement to combine in a 50/50, primarily all‑stock transaction. The combined company will be named Noble Corporation, listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Copenhagen, and is expected to create a stronger customer proposition, deliver cost synergies and a modernized fleet.

Akastor ASA Acquires Mitsui's Stake in AKOFS Offshore; MOL to Receive 8.3%

Akastor ASA has completed the transfer of all of Mitsui & Co., Ltd.'s interests in AKOFS Offshore AS, increasing Akastor's ownership to 75%. Akastor and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) have signed agreements under which Akastor will transfer 8.3% of AKOFS Offshore to MOL (on substantially the same commercial terms), resulting in final ownership of two-thirds for Akastor and one-third for MOL while AKOFS Offshore remains a jointly controlled entity.

Baker Hughes Acquires AccessESP

Baker Hughes has agreed to acquire AccessESP, a Houston-based provider of the GoRigless ESP deployment system, to integrate the company's alternative electrical submersible pump (ESP) deployment technology into Baker Hughes' Oilfield Services segment. AccessESP — with approximately 55 employees and facilities in North America and the Middle East — will bring proprietary IP, personnel and commercial agreements to Baker Hughes to reduce costs and downtime for oilfield operators.

Norvestor has signed an agreement to acquire a majority of the shares in PHM Holding Oy (PHM), a Finland-headquartered residential and commercial property maintenance services provider. The transaction backs PHM's Nordic expansion and consolidation strategy alongside existing owner Intera Fund III Ky and management, with PHM reporting ~€120m revenue and ~1,200 employees.
