Edelman Financial Engines (EFE) has acquired Smart Investor, a fiduciary Registered Investment Advisor headquartered in Roseville, California. The deal closed Aug. 1, 2022 and brings Smart Investor’s ~$680 million in assets under management and advisor team into EFE, expanding EFE’s presence in Northern California and bolstering its small retirement-plan capabilities for small businesses.
