USNR (Wood Technologies International) Acquires Timber Automation

USNR, a division of Wood Technologies International, acquired Timber Automation, LLC from Blue Sage Capital. The deal adds Timber’s LogPro and Baxley product lines, more than 250 employees and over 200,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity to USNR, expanding its product offering and production capabilities in the wood-processing equipment market.

Star Equity Holdings, Inc. completed the acquisition of Timber Technologies, LLC (Timber Tech), a Colfax, Wisconsin-based glue-laminated timber (glulam) manufacturer, effective May 17, 2024. The cash-free, debt-free purchase price was $23 million (including upfront cash, deferred cash and an earn-out), with associated real estate to be acquired separately for $3 million; Timber Tech reported 2023 revenue of $18.8 million and Adjusted EBITDA of $5.5 million.

GreyLion, a New York-based private equity firm, acquired Norwood Sawmills, a portable sawmill manufacturer based in Ontario, Canada, with Monroe Capital arranging senior debt to support the transaction. GreyLion said the investment will fund growth initiatives including hiring, sales and marketing expansion, product development and technology investments; the firm also announced a separate investment in Webconnex.
