Quantic Electronics, a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management, has acquired ECI Transcon Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of custom passive magnetic/electromagnetic components. The deal is the first step in Quantic’s plan to build an electromagnetic technology platform and expand its capability and product portfolio across aerospace, automotive, industrial and other end markets.

Allied Motion Technologies Acquires Airex, LLC

Allied Motion Technologies (Nasdaq: AMOT) has acquired Airex, LLC, a 70-year-old Somersworth, New Hampshire manufacturer of high-precision electromagnetic components and motors. The acquisition expands Allied Motion's motor and electromagnetic product offerings and supports key end markets including defense, life sciences, semiconductor and other industrial applications; financial terms were not disclosed.

Allied Motion Acquires Spectrum Controls, Inc.

Allied Motion Technologies Inc. acquired Spectrum Controls, Inc., a Bellevue, Washington–based designer and manufacturer of industrial I/O modules, displays and communications gateways, for a total purchase price of $70 million (approximately $45 million paid at closing, with $25 million deferred). Spectrum, founded in 1983 with about 72 employees, will expand Allied Motion’s industrial automation product portfolio and engineering capabilities and is expected to be accretive to earnings and gross margin.

Tidewater Investment Company Acquires Technical Coating International

Wilmington-based Tidewater Investment Company has acquired Technical Coating International Inc. (TCI), a Leland, North Carolina contract coater and laminator, in a transaction completed in February. Tidewater plans to keep TCI’s core leadership in place while appointing operating partner Bill Brinkley as CEO and pursue expansion into new end markets such as food and beverage packaging, military applications, upholstery, and outdoor coverings.

Avnan Capital Acquires Allied Components International

The transaction closed on December 4, 2023; Avnan plans to grow the business with industry veterans joining to manage and scale the new portfolio company.
