Smith + Howard, a national tax, accounting and advisory firm headquartered in Atlanta, acquired JMM CPAs, a specialty employee benefit plan (EBP) audit practice headquartered in Chicago, effective January 31, 2024. The combined EBP practice will serve over 500 plans and comprises 30 dedicated EBP employees, expanding Smith + Howard's national footprint and specialized EBP capabilities.

VIP Aviation Holdings, led by aviation and hospitality veterans Robert Greene, Sachi Greene, and Jeff Osatinski, has acquired Seattle-based VIP Hospitality, LLC. The transaction closed on May 2, 2025; Generational Group advised VIP Hospitality on the sale. VIP Hospitality is an airport hospitality and passenger experience services provider and will be integrated under the new ownership to expand operational capabilities and service offerings.

Smith + Howard Acquires Horton, Lee & Burnett

Atlanta-based accounting and advisory firm Smith + Howard has acquired Birmingham, Alabama-based accounting firm Horton, Lee & Burnett (formally Horton, Lee, Burnett, Peacock, Cleveland & Grainger), marking Smith + Howard's entry into the Alabama market. The deal (terms not disclosed) will transition the Horton, Lee & Burnett team onto the Smith + Howard brand and expand Smith + Howard's capabilities and Southeastern U.S. footprint.
