New Water Capital Acquires Bulk Lift International and Bagwell Supply

Private equity firm New Water Capital completed acquisitions of Bulk Lift International LLC and Bagwell Supply Ltd., combining two North American designers, manufacturers and distributors of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs) and complementary packaging products. The transactions expand the combined company's manufacturing and distribution footprint across the United States, Canada and Mexico and mark additional platform/add-on activity for New Water Capital Fund II.

Saothair Capital Partners Acquires Majority Stake in T BAILEY

Saothair Capital Partners has acquired a majority equity stake in T BAILEY, LLC, a vertically integrated manufacturer of above-ground industrial tanks, pressure vessels, marine pontoons and other large custom steel solutions based in Anacortes, Washington. Founder and CEO Gene Tanaka will remain in a meaningful ownership position and continue to lead the business; financing was provided by Polen Capital and legal/financial advisors included McGuireWoods, Holland & Hart and TM Capital.

New Water Capital, via its Bulk Lift transportation packaging platform, completed add-on acquisitions of Norwood Paper Inc. (Chicago, IL) and BulkSak International (Gastonia, NC). The transactions expand the platform's offering in FIBCs, liners and related polypropylene- and paper-based transportation packaging, and make the combined platform the largest provider of specialty FIBCs and related packaging in North America.

Bison Capital Leads $63M Series A in Fluid Market (Fluid Truck)

Bison Capital Partners V led a $63.0 million Series A investment in Fluid Market Inc. (doing business as Fluid Truck) with participation from Ingka Investments, Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, and Fluid Vehicle Owners. The funding will be used to build the technology platform, scale engineering and operations teams, and accelerate launches into new markets for its vehicle-rental and last-mile logistics platform.

Blue Sage Capital Acquires Baker Manufacturing Company (Stellus Provides Financing)

Blue Sage Capital has completed an acquisition of Baker Manufacturing Company, a nearly 150-year-old Evansville, Wisconsin-based manufacturer of water well equipment, pumps and iron castings. Stellus Capital Management provided senior/unitranche debt financing and an equity co-investment to support Blue Sage's buyout; Blue Sage will partner with Baker management to expand geographies, pursue strategic acquisitions and invest in product development.

Alterna Equity Partners Acquires Bulk Express Transport

South Florida-based private equity firm Alterna Equity Partners completed a control acquisition of the Bulk Express family of companies — including Bulk Express Transport, Soil Tech Distributors, M3 Transport and Inter City Disposal. The Miami-headquartered business is a leading long-haul waste hauling and transfer-station services provider in Florida; AEP plans to partner with management to expand the company's market position and advance operational and environmental initiatives.
