Above Food Ingredients Inc. acquired the specialty crop food ingredients division (the Assets) of The Redwood Group, LLC, expanding its plant-based pet food ingredient capabilities and adding pro forma pet-food revenues to roughly US$110M. The acquisition (assets previously reported as Montana-based) strengthens Above Food’s seed‑to‑fork platform and U.S. presence to better serve global pet food manufacturers and capture growth in the plant‑based pet food market.

Sonic Group Acquires Sonic Tools USA

Netherlands-based Sonic Group has acquired Sonic Tools USA, its exclusive North American distribution partner, making the Auburn, Alabama business a wholly owned subsidiary. The deal (terms undisclosed) is intended to strengthen Sonic Group's North American distribution network and accelerate growth across the U.S., Canada and Mexico while Sonic Tools USA continues operating from its Auburn facilities under CEO Colby McConnell.

Apheon Acquires Cain Food Industries and Merges It with Millbio

Luxembourg-based private equity firm Apheon has acquired Dallas-based Cain Food Industries and merged it with its portfolio company Millbio (Milan) to create a global clean-label bakery ingredients group. The combined business will operate in North America as Cain Food Industries Inc., with Cain's CEO Tom McCurry leading regional operations; financial terms were not disclosed.

Planethic Group AG Acquires IP Innovation Partners Technology GmbH

Planethic Group AG (formerly Veganz Group AG) has acquired 100% of IP Innovation Partners Technology GmbH, a spin-off focused on the design, manufacture and distribution of machines for 2D production of beverages and foodstuffs. The €3.0 million purchase will be paid in 200,000 Planethic shares and aims to consolidate the Group's machine design and IP to strengthen its 2D printing/food-production capabilities.

Solina Acquires Food Compounds B.V.

French savoury-ingredients group Solina (majority-owned by PE firm Astorg) has completed the acquisition of Food Compounds B.V., a Netherlands-based specialist in powder-based premixes and coating systems for potato processors. The deal strengthens Solina's coating expertise and R&D capabilities as part of its ongoing expansion strategy; financial terms were not disclosed.
