PLS Logistics Services Acquires D&L Transport

PLS Logistics Services, a technology-driven third-party logistics provider based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, has acquired D&L Transport, a freight brokerage headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. D&L will operate as an independent subsidiary with Brian DeFrain remaining president, and PLS expects the transaction to increase its annual revenue run rate to $950 million (with a projected ~$1.2 billion in 2022).

Russell A. Farrow (U.S.) Inc. Acquires DJ Powers Co. Inc.

Russell A. Farrow (U.S.) Inc. purchased a majority interest in DJ Powers Co. Inc., a Savannah, Georgia-based customs brokerage and freight forwarder, effective August 31, 2022. The deal gives Farrow expanded coverage along the lower U.S. eastern seaboard and international footprint, while DJ Powers' leadership (Rhett Willis and Eric Bakker) remain as minority shareholders and continue in their roles.

Bonsai Capital Acquires DC Logistics

Bonsai Capital, a family office-backed investment firm, has acquired DC Logistics, a regional third-party logistics (3PL) provider headquartered in Jurupa Valley, California. Funding for the transaction was provided by a group of investors including Crow Holdings. Bonsai plans to accelerate expansion, enhance customer service and operating model, and pursue geographic growth into Texas and Florida.

DP World (DP World Logistics FZE) Acquires Imperial Logistics Limited

DP World, through DP World Logistics FZE, has completed its acquisition of 100% of Imperial Logistics Limited after satisfying all conditions precedent; the transaction became unconditional and was implemented on 14 March 2022 with Imperial to be delisted from the JSE. The deal expands DP World's logistics and market-access capabilities across Africa by combining DP World's port infrastructure and global network with Imperial's African footprint, end-to-end logistics services and customer base.

Pilot Freight Services Acquires DSI Logistics

Pilot Freight Services, a PE-backed global transportation and logistics provider, has acquired DSI Logistics, a Brea, California-based last-mile home delivery and white-glove installation specialist. The acquisition, which closed March 31, 2021, expands Pilot's Pilot Last Mile Home capabilities and makes Pilot one of the largest last-mile providers for big and bulky goods in the United States; Argosy Private Equity and minority investor Headhaul Capital Partners exited their investment in DSI.

TJC, L.P. Acquires Global Transport Solutions (GTS)

TJC, L.P. (The Jordan Company) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Global Transport Solutions Topholding B.V. (GTS), an international maritime-focused logistics and forwarding provider operating under the Marinetrans and Best Global Logistics brands. The investment will provide GTS with resources to support geographic expansion, strengthen its network and capabilities, and accelerate growth across time-critical maritime supply chain markets.
