SP Manufacturing Acquires Asian Operations of Ideal Jacobs

Singapore-headquartered SP Manufacturing (SPM) has acquired the Asian operations of Ideal Jacobs, a Hong Kong–based provider of printed electronics and human-machine interface (HMI) solutions. The deal expands SPM's engineering and HMI/die-cut capabilities, adds regional capacity (including a strategic facility in Penang, Malaysia) and gives SPM access to Ideal Jacobs' blue-chip medical, industrial, semiconductor and communications customers.

Sole Source Capital Acquires I.D. Images

Sole Source Capital LLC, an industrial-focused private equity firm, has acquired I.D. Images (IDI), a manufacturer of durable and graphic-intensive product identification labels headquartered in Brunswick, Ohio. Sole Source said it will provide capital and integration expertise to support IDI's buy-and-build growth across North America; terms were not disclosed.

Images, a portfolio company of Sole Source Capital, has acquired Digital Printing Concepts, Multi-Action Communications, and Valley Forge Tape & Label to more than double the size of the platform and expand its manufacturing footprint across the U.S. and Canada. The add-on transactions (terms undisclosed) expand IDI’s product capabilities in durable, track-and-trace, and pressure-sensitive labels and add multiple production sites serving food & beverage, healthcare, grocery and logistics end markets.

MSQ Acquires New York Creative Agency SPCSHP

London-based MSQ has acquired New York-based creative agency SPCSHP (formerly Big Spaceship), adding roughly 140 employees and more than doubling MSQ's U.S. presence and North American revenues to $100 million. The deal, backed by private equity partners One Equity Partners and LDC, expands MSQ's capabilities and scale in North America and integrates SPCSHP into MSQ's global network of creative, media and technology agencies.
