TaxBit has acquired Tactic, a New York–based digital asset accounting platform, to integrate Tactic's automated accounting subledger into TaxBit's Corporate Accounting Suite and expand its enterprise-grade crypto accounting capabilities. The acquisition will also establish a stronger TaxBit presence in New York; financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition (announced April 2, 2025) expands Gainsight's product capabilities, brings Skilljar's ~400+ customers into the portfolio, and follows Lincoln International serving as Skilljar's exclusive financial advisor.

Taxually Acquires LumaTax to Enter U.S. Sales & Use Tax Market

Stripe Acquires Lemon Squeezy

Terms were not disclosed; Lemon Squeezy — a ~13-person startup that surpassed $1M ARR within nine months of launch — will help Stripe scale merchant-of-record selling and related billing/tax capabilities.

Jamf Acquires dataJAR

Jamf (NASDAQ: JAMF) has acquired U.K.-based Apple-focused managed services provider dataJAR to strengthen its MSP partner offerings and expand capabilities for managing Apple devices. The acquisition will integrate dataJAR's multi-tenant management platform and services into Jamf to help MSPs scale Apple device management across business and education customers; terms were not disclosed.

Cinven to Acquire TaxAct and Combine with Drake Software

Cinven has agreed to acquire TaxAct for approximately $720 million and will combine it with its existing portfolio company Drake Software under a new holding company to create a full-service tax solutions provider for professionals and consumers. The combined businesses will continue to operate under their own brands and the transaction is expected to close in 2022, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions.
