Celanese Completes Acquisition of ExxonMobil's Santoprene TPV Elastomers Business

Celanese Corporation completed the acquisition of Exxon Mobil Corporation’s Santoprene TPV elastomers business for $1.15 billion on a cash-free, debt-free basis. The deal transfers the Santoprene (and related) trademarks/portfolios, customer and supplier contracts, two TPV production facilities in the U.S. and U.K., and associated TPV intellectual property and R&D assets.

Technip Energies Acquires Ecovyst's Advanced Materials & Catalysts Business

Technip Energies has completed the acquisition of Ecovyst’s Advanced Materials & Catalysts (AM&C) segment in a transaction reported around $556 million, bringing approximately 330 AM&C employees into Technip. Ecovyst expects net proceeds of about $530 million (using $465 million to pay down term debt), while Technip said the deal expands its catalysts and advanced materials capabilities to support sustainable fuels, circular chemistry and carbon-capture applications.

The deal — announced December 1, 2021 — expands Pexco's silicone and TPE capabilities and broadens its end-market exposure in mobility, RV, marine and heavy equipment aftermarket segments; PEC owners Art Bowen and Dave Spears sold the business.
