Cloudflare Acquires Area 1 Security to Expand Its Zero Trust Email Security Platform

Cloudflare agreed to acquire Area 1 Security to integrate Area 1’s cloud-native email security and phishing protection into Cloudflare’s Zero Trust platform. The deal is valued at approximately $162 million, with 40–50% paid in Cloudflare Class A common stock and the remainder in cash, and was expected to close in early Q2 2022. Cloudflare later announced it completed the acquisition.
