Nuveen Private Equity Impact Acquires Majority Stake in Ally Energy Solutions

Nuveen’s Private Equity Impact team has acquired a majority interest in Ally Energy Solutions, a U.S.-based provider of turnkey energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers. The investment, the sixth for Nuveen Climate Inclusion Fund II, will support Ally’s national growth and deepen its capabilities in distributed clean energy, electrical infrastructure upgrades, and energy-efficiency projects.

LS Power Acquires Algonquin Power & Utilities' Renewable Energy Business

LS Power completed the acquisition of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.’s large-scale renewable energy business on January 8, 2025. LS Power created Clearlight Energy to operate the acquired ~3,000+ MW of operating wind, solar, battery and RNG assets, while its REV Renewables unit will acquire the remaining ~6,200 MW of development projects, expanding LS Power’s utility-scale renewables and storage footprint across the United States and Canada.

ALLETE Acquires New Energy Equity

ALLETE, Inc. (NYSE:ALE) has closed its acquisition of New Energy Equity, a distributed and community solar developer based in Annapolis, Maryland, for approximately $165.5 million. New Energy Equity has completed more than 250 distributed solar projects totaling over 330 MW and brings a ~2 GW development pipeline across 26 states; the company's management team and headquarters will remain in place.

Tandem Bank Acquires Allium Lending Group
