Surge Private Equity Invests in Contractor Connect LLC

Dallas-based Surge Private Equity has closed an investment in Contractor Connect LLC, a B2B lead-generation and live-transfer platform serving the home improvement and remodeling market. The deal (Surge's 10th platform) includes debt financing from Modern Bank and Assurance Mezzanine Fund; founder Joseph Powless will remain as an owner and partner while Surge plans to scale into new verticals such as HVAC and solar.

Rox Capital Acquires Neil Technical Services and Merges with Scruggs Company (Scruggs NTS)

Broadtree Partners Acquires Sayres and Associates

Broadtree Partners, an operator-centric private equity firm, has acquired Sayres and Associates, a Washington, D.C.-based defense contractor providing acquisition, engineering, security and training support services to the U.S. Department of Defense. The deal is financed with senior debt from JPMorgan Chase and subordinated debt from Muzinich & Co.; Broadtree intends to use Sayres as a platform to build a larger government services provider and pursue add-on acquisitions.

Berkshire Partners Recapitalizes National Carwash Solutions

Berkshire Partners acquired its position from AEA Investors' Small Business Fund (AEA SBF); terms were not disclosed and the transaction is intended to support NCS's next phase of growth.
