Sun Life Acquires PinnacleCare

Sun Life Financial agreed to acquire PinnacleCare, a Maryland-based medical intelligence and health-care navigation provider, for US$85 million to expand its U.S. Stop-Loss & Health business. The acquisition (expected to close mid-2021) will integrate PinnacleCare's care-navigation and second-opinion capabilities into Sun Life's stop-loss offering to improve member outcomes and reduce costs.

Pinnacle Treatment Centers Acquires Four Outpatient Opioid Treatment Programs from Recovery Centers of America

Pinnacle Treatment Centers, a Mt. Laurel, New Jersey-based addiction treatment provider, has acquired four outpatient opioid addiction treatment programs (one in Pennsylvania and three in New Jersey) that were previously operated by Recovery Centers of America. The facilities—now renamed Lansdowne Treatment Services, Trenton Treatment Services, Somerdale Treatment Services, and Woodbridge Treatment Services—will provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and expand Pinnacle's community-based network in the Eastern U.S.

Home Care Pulse Acquires Activated Insights and Pinnacle Quality Insight

Home Care Pulse (HCP), with support from healthcare-focused private equity firm Cressey & Company, acquired Activated Insights and Pinnacle Quality Insight to expand its post-acute care experience management, training, and reputation management platform. The transactions bring additional survey, benchmarking, and eLearning capabilities into HCP's Care Intelligence platform and are being integrated under the Activated Insights brand.
