Cibes Lift Group Acquires Elevator Service Company

Swedish lift manufacturer Cibes Lift Group has acquired Elevator Service Company, Inc., a Torrington, Connecticut-based provider of home lifts, platform lifts and elevator maintenance and modernization services. The acquisition gives Cibes a stronger U.S. presence and retains Elevator Service Company as a wholly owned subsidiary under new management.

Swedish elevator manufacturer Cibes Lift Group has acquired Virginia-based Area Access Inc, a distributor and service provider of residential vertical lifts in the US Mid-Atlantic. Area Access (56 employees) will become a wholly owned subsidiary while maintaining its brand and local management, strengthening Cibes' US presence as its fourth American addition.

3Phase Elevator and Specialized Elevator Services Holdings have merged to create the largest nationwide independent union elevator services company in the United States. Existing 3Phase investor Berkshire Partners made a strategic growth investment in the combined company — including acquiring CIVC Partners' stake in Specialized — while management from both companies reinvested and will remain in place. The combined business will employ more than 390 International Union of Elevator Constructors members and service over 20,000 elevator and escalator units.

Vantage Elevator Solutions Acquires BSIS

Vantage Elevator Solutions, headquartered in Bronx, New York, has acquired BSIS, a New York–based installer of passenger and freight door systems, cabs, cab remodeling, platforms and emergency repairs. The acquisition will integrate BSIS' field and technical services into Vantage's portfolio (alongside Freight Tech) to expand capability and deliver more comprehensive field support and manufacturing services to customers.

Plexus Capital Acquires Southern Elevator Group with Financing from Brightwood Capital

Plexus Capital has acquired Southern Elevator Group, a provider of elevator installation, maintenance, modernization and repair services, with financing support from Brightwood Capital Advisors. Brightwood provided debt financing to back the transaction, which Plexus says will position Southern to accelerate growth and enhance its service offerings across commercial, residential and institutional end markets.

Elevator Service, Inc. (ESI), parent of City Elevator of Michigan, has acquired Detroit-based elevator service provider Elevator Technology as owner Wayne Bolen retires. Elevator Technology will operate under City Elevator of Michigan, expanding ESI's footprint and service capabilities in the Detroit metro while ensuring continuity for customers and employees.
