EchoStar Acquires DISH Network

EchoStar completed its acquisition of DISH Network on December 31, 2023, merging a wholly owned EchoStar subsidiary into DISH with DISH surviving as an EchoStar wholly owned subsidiary. The deal combines DISH’s satellite TV, streaming services and nationwide 5G network with EchoStar’s satellite communications and JUPITER satellite capacity to create an integrated provider of terrestrial and non‑terrestrial connectivity based in Englewood, Colorado.

Eutelsat Communications to Combine with OneWeb in All-Share Transaction

Eutelsat Communications and key OneWeb shareholders signed a final combination agreement to merge the GEO satellite operator Eutelsat with OneWeb’s low Earth orbit (LEO) constellation in an all-share transaction. Following closing, Eutelsat would own 100% of OneWeb (excluding the UK Government’s ‘Special Share’), with OneWeb shareholders receiving newly issued Eutelsat shares representing 50% of the enlarged share capital.
