DIRECTV to Acquire EchoStar’s Video Distribution Business (DISH TV and Sling TV)

DIRECTV and EchoStar entered into a definitive agreement under which DIRECTV will acquire EchoStar’s video distribution business, DISH DBS, including DISH TV and Sling TV, via a debt exchange transaction. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and successful completion of the DISH DBS exchange offer and pre-closing reorganization.

DISH Network Acquires Republic Wireless

DISH Network announced on March 8, 2021 that it will acquire Republic Wireless, an MVNO operating on the T‑Mobile network, including approximately 200,000 customer relationships and the Republic brand. The Relay division of Republic will remain a standalone business in Raleigh and become a wholesale customer on DISH’s 5G network.

Mereo Networks Acquires DISH Fiber and Rebrands as Mereo Fiber

Mereo Networks (rebranding to Mereo Fiber) acquired DISH Fiber Internet L.L.C. from DISH Network Corporation in a transaction that closed April 30, 2025. The deal—an add-on to the PE-backed Mereo platform—expands Mereo's bulk fiber footprint (adding ~25,000 residential units) and extends its geographic reach across key Sun Belt, Mountain West and Great Lakes markets.

Gilat Satellite Networks Acquires Stellar Blu Solutions

Gilat paid $98 million at closing with up to $147 million of additional contingent cash payments tied to post-closing milestones; the deal strengthens Gilat's capabilities and market position in the commercial and business aviation IFC market.

IDIS Co., Ltd. Acquires Costar Technologies, Inc.

IDIS Co., Ltd. completed its acquisition of all outstanding common stock of Costar Technologies, Inc., making Costar a wholly-owned subsidiary and prompting the delisting of Costar's OTC shares. Costar stockholders received approximately $4.90 per share in cash; IDIS said the deal expands its global presence and diversifies its product portfolio in video surveillance and industrial vision.

Eutelsat Communications to Combine with OneWeb in All-Share Transaction

Eutelsat Communications and key OneWeb shareholders signed a final combination agreement to merge the GEO satellite operator Eutelsat with OneWeb’s low Earth orbit (LEO) constellation in an all-share transaction. Following closing, Eutelsat would own 100% of OneWeb (excluding the UK Government’s ‘Special Share’), with OneWeb shareholders receiving newly issued Eutelsat shares representing 50% of the enlarged share capital.
