AURELIUS has completed the acquisition of McKesson UK, a corporate carve‑out from McKesson Corporation that includes LloydsPharmacy, AAH Pharmaceuticals and John Bell & Croyden. The transaction is led by AURELIUS’ co‑investment structure (AURELIUS European Opportunities Fund IV 70% / AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA 30%) and positions the firm to grow McKesson UK’s retail, digital, homecare and wholesale businesses.

AURELIUS Acquires Footasylum from JD Sports

AURELIUS has completed the acquisition of UK streetwear retailer Footasylum from JD Sports Fashion Plc for an enterprise value of approximately EUR 45m (GBP 37.5m). Footasylum, headquartered in Rochdale and operating 63 UK stores plus multiple websites and warehouse facilities, will be supported by AURELIUS to enhance digital capabilities, develop own-brand opportunities and improve profitability.

AmerisourceBergen Acquires PharmaLex from AUCTUS in €1.28bn Transaction

AmerisourceBergen Corporation acquired a majority stake in PharmaLex from funds advised by AUCTUS Capital Partners AG in a transaction that closed at year-end 2022 for approximately EUR 1.28 billion. PharmaLex, a Germany-headquartered provider of regulatory, clinical development and pharmacovigilance services to the life sciences industry, was grown under AUCTUS through a buy-and-build program of 38 add-ons and will expand AmerisourceBergen's global pharmaceutical solutions.

AURELIUS Acquires The Body Shop from Natura &Co

AURELIUS has agreed to acquire The Body Shop International Limited from Natura &Co for a purchase price valuing the business at £207 million (including a £90m earn-out). The acquisition, expected to close in December 2023, will see AURELIUS work with The Body Shop management to drive operational improvements and re-energise the global beauty and personal care brand.

Ascensus Specialties Acquires Wychem Limited from AURELIUS Equity Opportunities

Ascensus Specialties LLC has acquired Wychem Limited, a UK-based independent fine chemical manufacturer, from AURELIUS Equity Opportunities. The acquisition expands Ascensus' European manufacturing footprint and adds Wychem's capabilities in aromatic compounds, halogenation and multi-step intermediates for pharmaceutical APIs; financial terms were not disclosed by Ascensus, while AURELIUS reported a 10.6x money-over-money multiple on the sale.

AURELIUS Acquires dental bauer and Parts of Pluradent to Create European Dental Distribution Platform

AURELIUS, via its co-investment structure (AURELIUS European Opportunities IV Fund and AURELIUS Equity Opportunities), acquired family-run dental bauer and significant parts of Pluradent to form an integrated dental distribution platform serving the DACH region and adjacent markets. The Linneweh family (dental bauer) will remain invested and on the management team; the combined business is expected to generate more than EUR 300 million in revenues as AURELIUS pursues further buy-and-build expansion.
