Goldman Sachs Alternatives Acquires Minority Stake in Excel Sports Management

Goldman Sachs Alternatives agreed to acquire a stake in Excel Sports Management, a New York-based sports agency, to support its next phase of international growth. The partnership will back expansion of Excel’s global presence across sports, media, and sponsorship, including investments in technology and data-driven capabilities. Shamrock Capital, which previously held a minority stake since 2020, will exit as part of the transaction; terms were not disclosed and the deal is subject to regulatory approvals.

The Private Equity business at Goldman Sachs Alternatives has agreed to become the majority shareholder in French wealth manager Crystal, alongside Crystal's management team led by Bruno Narchal and Jean-Maximilien Vancayezeele; Seven2 will remain a c.25% shareholder. Crystal, founded in 1992, manages around €22 billion AUM (pro forma for recent acquisitions) and said the investment will support growth in France and internationally, including significant investments in digital and AI. The transaction is subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals.
