Stamford-based private equity firm Olympus Partners has recapitalized Heniff Transportation Systems alongside Heniff management. Heniff, headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois, is a leading provider of bulk liquid trucking, tank washing, ISO and transloading services operating an integrated network of over 40 U.S. terminals; Olympus will provide capital to support the company’s next phase of growth and expansion.

Heniff Acquires Combo Group

The Heniff family of companies has acquired the Combo Group, a Born, Netherlands–based bulk transporter and tank-cleaning services provider with operations in Born, Geleen (NL) and Straelen (DE). Terms were not disclosed; the acquisition gives Heniff immediate scale in European bulk transportation, tank cleaning and maintenance operations.

Heniff Transportation Systems, a platform backed by Olympus Partners, has acquired Superior Bulk Logistics (SBL), which operates Superior Carriers, Inc. and Carry Transit, Inc. The combination creates a larger bulk liquid and dry bulk transportation provider aimed at expanding geographies, service lines and fleet investment to serve chemical manufacturers and food product companies.

Heniff Transportation Systems has acquired Janesville, Wisconsin–based Hagen Johnson Group, adding Hagen Johnson’s food-grade tank truck fleet, kosher tank-cleaning operation, and liquid freight brokerage to Heniff’s corresponding divisions. Terms were not disclosed; the deal excludes Reedsburg-based Korth Transfer. Heniff said the acquisition will support continued growth, technology investment and improved services for customers.

H.I.G. Capital Completes Acquisition of CargoTuff

Capital, through an affiliate, completed the acquisition of CargoTuff, a manufacturer and distributor of load securement products used to prevent load shifting and reduce freight damage across rail, ocean, truck, and intermodal shipping. CargoTuff’s management team led by Co-CEOs Helmut Elze and Selim Akdoğan will remain in place, with H.I.G. supporting continued investment in growth and expansion of product capabilities and global manufacturing footprint.

Hoffmann Family of Companies Acquires JED Transportation and Corporate Transportation (St. Louis)
