River Associates Investments, a Chattanooga-based lower-middle market private equity firm, acquired Hoskin Scientific Limited, a Burnaby, British Columbia–based value-added distributor of test, measurement and monitoring equipment. The transaction closed on December 30, 2021, and was funded with equity from River VII with debt financing provided by Bank of Montreal and PNC Mezzanine Capital.

Oakville, Ontario-based Hoskin Scientific, a portfolio company of River Associates, has acquired Pickering, Ontario-based Durham Instruments, a supplier of test & measurement instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems. The deal, financed with mezzanine debt from PNC Mezzanine Capital, expands Hoskin's national footprint and strengthens its product and service offering across aerospace, automotive, industrial and research end markets.

Hawkins, Inc. Acquires EcoTech Enterprises, Inc.

Hawkins, Inc. (Nasdaq: HWKN) completed the acquisition of EcoTech Enterprises, Inc., adding its 40th Water Treatment location and expanding Hawkins’ footprint in Arkansas and surrounding states. EcoTech manufactures, blends, packages and distributes water treatment chemicals locally; Hawkins said it will maintain EcoTech’s community connections while using the tuck-in to accelerate regional water treatment growth.

The tuck-in deal expands Hawkins' water treatment footprint to fill a geographic gap in northern Louisiana and east Texas and is intended to accelerate growth in the surrounding regions.
