Rainier Partners Acquires Calpine Containers, Inc.

Seattle-based private equity firm Rainier Partners has acquired a majority interest in Calpine Containers, Inc., a Clovis, California-based packaging distributor serving more than 500 fresh produce growers and marketers across the U.S. West Coast. Calpine's management and employees retained an ownership stake and will continue to run the company as Rainier provides capital and distribution expertise to accelerate growth across Calpine's 11-location footprint.

The deal, closed November 1, 2021, is an add-on to B2B's platform (backed by GenNx360 Capital Partners) to expand the firm's geographic footprint and service capabilities in the Pacific Northwest.

Mauser Packaging Solutions Acquires Consolidated Container Company, LLC

Mauser Packaging Solutions, an affiliate of Stone Canyon Industries LLC, has acquired substantially all assets of Consolidated Container Company, LLC, a manufacturer, reconditioner and distributor of industrial containers with facilities in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Kansas City, Kansas. The transaction, funded with $56 million in cash from Mauser's balance sheet, expands Mauser’s reconditioning and recycling capabilities and geographic footprint and is expected to be margin accretive before synergies.

Georgia-Pacific Acquires Anchor Packaging

Georgia-Pacific has completed the acquisition of Anchor Packaging from the company's investors, including TJC, L.P.; financial terms were not disclosed. Anchor Packaging — a St. Louis–headquartered thermoformer operating four manufacturing facilities and two warehouses with ~1,250 employees — will become a wholly owned subsidiary to expand Georgia-Pacific's consumer products and foodservice packaging capabilities.
