Swedencare Acquires Vetio Animal Health from Thompson Street Capital Partners

Swedencare AB has acquired Vetio Animal Health, a North American contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) focused on veterinary pharmaceuticals, supplements and dermatology products, from Thompson Street Capital Partners. Thompson Street supported Vetio's growth through facility expansions and the acquisition of TetraGenx; Swedencare intends to leverage Vetio's manufacturing capabilities to expand its pet healthcare product portfolio and supply capabilities in North America.

Dechra Pharmaceuticals Acquires Med-Pharmex from DW Healthcare Partners

Nordic Capital has agreed to invest in United Veterinary Care (UVC), acquiring the shareholdings controlled by Atlantic Street Capital and joining UVC's veterinary owner-practitioners as a major shareholder. UVC is a Palm Beach Gardens, Florida–based multi-location veterinary group operating more than 60 hospitals across 13 U.S. states with over 1,200 employees; the transaction supports the company's continued organic and acquisitive growth.

Merck Animal Health to acquire Elanco's aqua business for ~$1.3B

Merck Animal Health has agreed to buy Elanco Animal Health's aqua business for approximately US$1.3 billion in cash. The divestiture — which includes marketed brands, R&D projects, manufacturing sites in Prince Edward Island (Canada) and Dong Nai (Vietnam), and roughly 280 commercial and manufacturing employees — will allow Elanco to focus on higher-growth pet and livestock markets and use proceeds to pay down debt.

AmerisourceBergen Corporation acquired a majority stake in PharmaLex from funds advised by AUCTUS Capital Partners AG in a transaction that closed at year-end 2022 for approximately EUR 1.28 billion. PharmaLex, a Germany-headquartered provider of regulatory, clinical development and pharmacovigilance services to the life sciences industry, was grown under AUCTUS through a buy-and-build program of 38 add-ons and will expand AmerisourceBergen's global pharmaceutical solutions.

Veterinary Pharmaceutical Solutions (VPS), a Granite Creek Capital Partners portfolio company, acquired Diamond Animal Health from Mars Corporation. Granite Creek supported the deal with a follow-on investment from its FlexCap II fund, creating an integrated animal health platform combining VPS's compounding capabilities with Diamond's contract manufacturing and vaccine production.
