Advent International and ADIA Take Minority Stake in Fisher Investments

Advent International and a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) made a minority common stock investment of roughly $3.0 billion in Fisher Investments, valuing the firm at $12.75 billion. Founder Ken Fisher sold personal holdings but will retain majority ownership and over 70% of voting shares; Damian Ornani remains CEO and David Mussafer (Advent) joins Fisher's board.

Hg has increased its stake in enterprise software provider IFS to become a co-control shareholder alongside EQT, as new minority investors — a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) — buy shares from EQT, TA Associates and other minority holders. The transaction values IFS at over EUR 15 billion and supports the company’s continued AI-driven growth after surpassing €1 billion in ARR and more than 7,000 employees globally.

ADIA and CapitalG Acquire Minority Stakes in TeamSystem

A wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and CapitalG, Alphabet’s growth fund, have agreed to acquire minority stakes in Italian business-software provider TeamSystem. Hellman & Friedman will remain the majority shareholder; the investments will support TeamSystem’s product expansion and international growth and are expected to close in Q1 2024 subject to customary conditions.

Bain Capital and ADIA Acquire Merchants Fleet with Management Co-Investment

Bain Capital and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), together with the Merchants Fleet leadership team, completed the acquisition of Merchants Automotive Group (d/b/a Merchants Fleet and Merchants Auto). The management team will remain in place as co-investors; the transaction provides capital to accelerate Merchants' growth, technology initiatives and fleet electrification efforts and was supported by a $3 billion financing program arranged by Ares and others.
