Hawkins, Inc. (Nasdaq: HWKN), a specialty chemical and ingredients company, has acquired the assets of Intercoastal Trading, Inc., a regional distributor of water treatment chemicals and equipment based in Maryland. The acquisition expands Hawkins' water treatment footprint on the U.S. East Coast (serving Maryland, Delaware and Virginia) and is expected to be accretive to earnings in the current fiscal year.

Hawkins, Inc. (Nasdaq: HWKN) completed the acquisition of EcoTech Enterprises, Inc., adding its 40th Water Treatment location and expanding Hawkins’ footprint in Arkansas and surrounding states. EcoTech manufactures, blends, packages and distributes water treatment chemicals locally; Hawkins said it will maintain EcoTech’s community connections while using the tuck-in to accelerate regional water treatment growth.

(Nasdaq: HWKN) completed the acquisition of Water Solutions Unlimited, Inc. and signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of The Miami Products & Chemical Company (doing business as Sanygen). The deals expand Hawkins' water treatment footprint by six locations, add over 90 employees, and bring bleach manufacturing capabilities to support Hawkins' regional water treatment operations.

Integrated Water Services and Sciens Water Acquire Hyperion International Technologies

Integrated Water Services, in partnership with Sciens Water Opportunities Management (an affiliate of Sciens Capital), acquired 100% of Hyperion International Technologies, a control-systems and engineering services provider for water and wastewater markets. The deal expands IWS’s product and digital services capabilities in modular MBR and wastewater reuse technologies; Hyperion’s General Manager Scott Johnson will lead the business as Al Ouchie transitions to retirement.

River Associates Acquires Hoskin Scientific

River Associates Investments, a Chattanooga-based lower-middle market private equity firm, acquired Hoskin Scientific Limited, a Burnaby, British Columbia–based value-added distributor of test, measurement and monitoring equipment. The transaction closed on December 30, 2021, and was funded with equity from River VII with debt financing provided by Bank of Montreal and PNC Mezzanine Capital.
