TenCate Grass Acquires Majority Stake in The LandTek Group

TenCate Grass has acquired a majority stake in The LandTek Group, a Bay Shore, New York-based provider of athletic field engineering, construction, project management and maintenance services across the U.S. East Coast. The LandTek founders and management will remain substantial shareholders and continue to lead the company as TenCate looks to expand its East Coast footprint and combine LandTek's service capabilities with TenCate's product portfolio and U.S. supply chain.

TenCate Grass Acquires Sports & Leisure Group from Sun European Affiliate

TenCate Grass Holding B.V. has acquired Sports & Leisure Group (SLG), a vertically integrated artificial turf systems manufacturer headquartered in Sint‑Niklaas, Belgium. The shares were sold by an affiliate of Sun European Partners; former SLG shareholders, including the Sun European affiliate, will reinvest part of the sale proceeds into TenCate. The deal expands TenCate's geographic footprint and Outdoor Living portfolio across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and South America.

Crestview Partners Acquires TenCate Grass Holding B.V.

Crestview Partners has completed the acquisition of TenCate Grass Holding B.V. from Royal TenCate, a business previously owned by a consortium led by Gilde Buy Out Partners. Headquartered in Nijverdal, the Netherlands, TenCate Grass is a vertically integrated global manufacturer, distributor and installer of artificial turf solutions with roughly $600 million in annual revenues; Crestview will partner with the existing management team to pursue organic growth and M&A expansion.

Leonard Green & Partners Acquires Majority Stake in TenCate Grass

Affiliates of Leonard Green & Partners (LGP) will acquire a majority stake in TenCate Grass Holding B.V., purchasing shares from Crestview Partners and select other shareholders. TenCate's senior management will remain invested and continue to lead the company; the transaction advances LGP's entry into the sports and outdoor living surfaces market and is expected to close in February 2024 (terms undisclosed).

TenCate Grass Acquires Majority Stake in Byrom-Davey, Inc.

TenCate Grass has acquired a majority stake in Byrom-Davey, Inc., a San Diego-based sports facility design and construction firm that has built over 600 athletic facilities in Southern California. Byrom-Davey’s management team, including founder and CEO Steve Davey, will remain in place as TenCate looks to expand its geographic footprint in the U.S.

Blackford Capital Acquires Artificial Turf Supply

Blackford Capital, a lower middle market private equity firm, has acquired Carlsbad, California-based Artificial Turf Supply (ATS) and added it as the second company in its Patio Consolidation Portfolio. ATS founder David Barbera will remain president of ATS and join Blackford as an Operating Partner as the platform pursues consolidation and growth across residential, commercial, pet and athletic turf markets.
