DataBank Acquires Four CyrusOne Houston Data Centers for $670M

DataBank closed its $670 million acquisition of four Houston-area data centers from CyrusOne, adding more than 300,000 square feet of raised-floor capacity and 42.5 megawatts of power. The deal expands DataBank’s U.S. footprint into Houston as its 28th metro, bringing the company’s portfolio to more than 65 facilities and roughly 2.0 million square feet of capacity; TD Securities and CIT (a division of First Citizens Bank) provided underwritten debt financing.

BlackRock to Acquire Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) for $3 Billion

BlackRock and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) entered into an agreement for BlackRock to acquire GIP for $3 billion in cash plus approximately 12 million shares of BlackRock common stock. The combined platform is expected to strengthen BlackRock’s global infrastructure franchise and improve origination and asset-management capabilities. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

The partnership will support development of Eni CCUS projects across the UK, the Netherlands, and Italy, with an option to participate in future Ravenna CCS activity and potential satellite opportunities tied to Eni’s depleted oil and gas fields.

3i Infrastructure plc Acquires Global Cloud Xchange for $512M

3i Infrastructure plc has completed a $512 million acquisition of a 100% stake in Global Cloud Xchange (GCX), a global data communications service provider and owner of a large private subsea fiber optic network. 3i Infrastructure said it will partner with GCX management to invest in the platform—expanding capacity, adding routes and services, and pursuing growth across key markets including India, the Middle East and Europe.

Gyrus Capital Acquires Majority Stake in Katalist Group

ACS Group and Global Infrastructure Partners (BlackRock) Create €2 Billion Data Center Venture

ACS Group and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), an affiliate of BlackRock, announced a 50-50 joint venture to build and operate next-generation data centers with an initial 1.7 GW capacity. The venture will include ACS’s existing €2.0 billion (100% basis) development portfolio across Europe, the United States, and Australia and is expected to expand for hyperscalers, AI companies, and enterprise customers; the agreement is subject to regulatory approvals.
