U-Haul acquired the former Extra Space Storage facility at 1717 W. River Road N. in Minneapolis and opened it as U-Haul Moving & Storage at West River Road. The two-story, 975-unit self-storage property became operational under U-Haul management on Nov. 19, and the company plans to hire up to eight team members to staff the location.

NexPoint Storage Partners Acquires 29 SAFStor Self‑Storage Properties

NexPoint Storage Partners acquired 29 newly developed self-storage properties from SAFStor, bringing its wholly owned portfolio to approximately $1.7 billion in assets and 71 operating properties. As part of the deal Extra Space Storage extended and restructured its preferred equity investment in NexPoint and will manage NexPoint’s entire platform (nearly 90 properties) under the amended arrangement.

Public Storage Acquires ezStorage for $1.8 Billion

Public Storage (NYSE: PSA) acquired ezStorage’s 48-property self-storage portfolio for $1.8 billion, adding approximately 4.2 million net rentable square feet across Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland. The transaction expands Public Storage’s Mid‑Atlantic coverage and was funded with unsecured debt; the company indicated the deal would be immediately accretive to FFO with an anticipated closing in May 2021.

StorageVault Acquires Four Self-Storage Facilities for $60.8M

StorageVault Canada Inc. completed the acquisition of four additional self-storage facilities from four vendor groups for an aggregate purchase price of $60.8 million, funded with cash on hand and mortgage financing. One previously announced $2.6 million acquisition was not completed and was replaced by a $9.0 million asset, bringing StorageVault's year-to-date completed transactions to $132.6 million.

Knight-Swift Acquires U.S. Xpress Enterprises for ~$808M

Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings agreed to acquire U.S. Xpress Enterprises for a total enterprise value of approximately $808 million, paying $6.15 per share; the transaction was approved by shareholders and closed on July 1, 2023. U.S. Xpress will continue to operate as a separate brand, with the Fuller family rolling over a portion of their equity into an approximately 10% interest in a new Knight-Swift subsidiary holding the business.

EVI Industries Acquires Express Parts and Services
