Bain Capital Private Equity Acquires Porus Labs

Bain Capital Private Equity has agreed to acquire Porus Labs, a Hyderabad-based manufacturer of specialty and agricultural chemicals. Bain said it will invest in talent, capacity expansion, process engineering and R&D to build a platform in specialty chemicals and expand Porus Labs' capabilities and market reach; financial terms were not disclosed.

ORHub, Inc. Acquires PUR Biologics, LLC

Axol Bioscience Acquires Phenocell

Ecolab Acquires Purolite for $3.7 Billion

Ecolab Inc. has acquired Purolite, a King of Prussia, Pennsylvania-based global leader in ion exchange resins, in a cash transaction valued at approximately $3.7 billion. The deal expands Ecolab's life sciences purification capabilities and adds a high-margin, recurring-revenue portfolio serving biopharma, microelectronics and other industrial end markets.

Bruker Corporation Acquires PhenomeX Inc.

Bruker Corporation agreed to acquire PhenomeX Inc. in an all-cash transaction valued at roughly $108 million (purchase price $1.00 per share). PhenomeX — formed from the combination of Berkeley Lights and IsoPlexis and provider of single-cell biology instruments, software and reagents — will be folded into a Bruker subsidiary, marking Bruker’s entry into single-cell biology research tools and complementing its spatial biology offerings.

Astellas Pharma Acquires Propella Therapeutics

Astellas Pharma, through its U.S. subsidiary Astellas US Holding, agreed to acquire privately held biopharmaceutical company Propella Therapeutics for approximately US$175 million. The acquisition gives Astellas ownership of PRL-02, a next-generation long-acting abiraterone prodrug for prostate cancer currently in Phase 1, and is expected to close within Astellas' fiscal year 2023 (ending March 31, 2024).
