ConocoPhillips Acquires Additional 10% Stake in Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) from Origin Energy

ConocoPhillips, through its Australian subsidiary, completed the purchase of an additional 10% interest in Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) from Origin Energy for $1.645 billion (approximately $1.4 billion cash after adjustments). The transaction increases ConocoPhillips' ownership in APLNG to 47.5%, with Origin Energy and Sinopec holding 27.5% and 25% respectively, and is intended to bolster ConocoPhillips' LNG position and diversify its product mix.

ConocoPhillips Acquires Marathon Oil Corporation

ConocoPhillips has acquired Marathon Oil Corporation in an all-stock transaction (0.2550 COP shares per Marathon share) with an enterprise value of $22.5 billion (including $5.4 billion of net debt). The deal, approved by Marathon shareholders and completed in November 2024, expands ConocoPhillips' U.S. Lower 48 portfolio, is immediately accretive, and is expected to deliver significant cost and capital synergies.

EOG Resources Acquires Encino Acquisition Partners

EOG Resources agreed to acquire Encino Acquisition Partners (EAP) from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Encino Energy for $5.6 billion, a deal expected to close in the second half of 2025. The purchase adds roughly 675,000 net acres and more than 1,000 producing wells in the Utica/Point Pleasant shale, expanding EOG’s footprint to about 1.1 million net acres in the play and creating a third foundational asset alongside its Delaware Basin and Eagle Ford positions.

PDC Energy Acquires Great Western Petroleum, LLC

PDC Energy, Inc. completed the acquisition of privately held Great Western Petroleum, LLC, a Denver-based oil and gas producer. The deal included $543 million in cash consideration (less $50 million previously escrowed), approximately 4 million shares of PDC common stock, and PDC paid off Great Western’s secured credit facility and senior secured notes; PDC said the acquisition is accretive to its operating, ESG and financial metrics.

Vår Energi Acquires ExxonMobil's Upstream Assets in Norway

Vår Energi has completed the acquisition of ExxonMobil's Norway upstream assets for a cash consideration of roughly USD 4.5 billion, a deal that effectively doubled the company's production on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The portfolio adds interests in more than 20 producing fields (about 150,000 boepd additional), increases reserves to ~1,900 million boe and transfers some ~33–50 ExxonMobil employees to Vår Energi, reinforcing the company's position as the second-largest operator on the NCS.

Oklo Acquires Atomic Alchemy to Secure Domestic Radioisotope Supply

The deal will vertically integrate radioisotope and fuel production to secure domestic supplies for Oklo’s reactors and create a complementary revenue stream for medical and industrial isotopes.
