Vertellus Acquires Specialty Ingredients Businesses from Chemtrade

Vertellus, a Pritzker Private Capital–backed specialty chemicals manufacturer, completed the acquisition of certain Chemtrade businesses that produce potassium chloride, caustic pellets and vaccine adjuvants. The deal expands Vertellus’ capabilities and product portfolio in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors and strengthens its manufacturing footprint for specialty ingredients.

Pritzker Private Capital acquired Vertellus, a specialty chemicals manufacturer headquartered in Indianapolis, with Vertellus CEO John Van Hulle and other members of management investing alongside PPC and remaining in leadership. The deal gives Pritzker a platform in specialty chemicals to support Vertellus’ growth and innovation across healthcare, personal care, agriculture, coatings and transportation markets.

Vertellus Acquires IM Chemicals

Vertellus, a Pritzker Private Capital‑backed specialty chemicals manufacturer based in Indianapolis, acquired IM Chemicals — the intermediates and specialties division of ESIM Chemicals — to expand its specialty ingredients portfolio and add European manufacturing capacity. The deal was announced in June 2021 and completed in October 2021, enabling Vertellus to broaden product offerings for pharmaceuticals, coatings and fuel & lubricant markets.

Barentz Acquires Viachem

Vertellus Acquires Polyscope Polymers

Indianapolis-based specialty materials manufacturer Vertellus, backed by Pritzker Private Capital, has acquired Polyscope Polymers B.V., a Netherlands-based producer of styrene maleic anhydride (SMA) copolymers. The deal expands Vertellus’ European production capabilities and extends its presence into coatings, electronics and automotive end markets as an add-on to the Vertellus platform.
