Blue Bird Corporation to Acquire Girardin Group’s Stake in Micro Bird Joint Venture

Blue Bird Corporation has signed an agreement to acquire Girardin Group’s stake in the 50/50 Micro Bird joint venture, taking full ownership of the enterprise. Blue Bird will pay approximately $200 million for the joint venture share (30% cash and 70% in Blue Bird common stock), with closing expected in the first half of 2026 subject to conditions and regulatory approvals.

Black & Veatch Acquires Bird Electric

Black & Veatch has acquired Bird Electric Enterprises and Bird Electric Properties (both part of BASElectric Holdings, LLC). The acquisition brings more than 600 electrical construction and emergency restoration professionals into Black & Veatch’s Grid Solutions portfolio, expanding its capabilities across transmission, distribution, renewables, EV charging and storm restoration markets.

Israir Subsidiary Acquires Additional Stakes in Bird Aviation

Tel Aviv-based Israir (through its subsidiary Israir Aviation and Tourism) agreed to buy a 25% stake in Cyprus-based MRO provider Bird Aviation from Bird Aerosystems for €2.75 million, and plans to acquire a further 12.5% for ~€1.375 million with a put option to purchase the remaining 12.5% two years after. The staged transaction increases Israir's ownership of the Larnaca-headquartered maintenance specialist and is intended to support fleet development plans, finance capacity and expanded MRO capabilities at Bird Aviation's Larnaca base.

Bird Global Acquires Spin from TIER Mobility

Bird Global, Inc. acquired Skinny Labs, Inc. (doing business as Spin) from Berlin-based TIER Mobility for $19 million in a deal that included $10 million cash upfront, $6 million vendor take back and $3 million holdback. The acquisition makes Bird North America’s largest micromobility operator by market share, adds Spin’s ~60,000-vehicle fleet and ~50-city footprint, and is expected to deliver more than $20 million in synergies and be immediately accretive to earnings.
