Funds managed by Maritime Partners, LLC (through newly-formed Project Merchant Acquisition LLC) agreed to buy American Tanker Holding Company, Inc. (ATHC), AMSC ASA's Jones Act tanker business, for aggregate gross cash proceeds to AMSC of US$249.3 million (enterprise value reported at US$746.7 million). ATHC owns nine handysize product tankers and one handysize shuttle tanker on long-term bareboat charters to Overseas Shipholding Group and Keystone Shipping; the deal is intended to complement Maritime Partners' existing vessel-lease portfolio and diversify lessee and asset exposure in the protected Jones Act market.

A.P. Moller Holding to Acquire Maersk Supply Service

A.P. Moller Holding has entered into an agreement to acquire Maersk Supply Service from A.P. Moller – Maersk. The acquisition aims to reposition Maersk Supply Service from primarily servicing oil & gas toward becoming a leading offshore marine company for the offshore wind and renewable energy market; the deal is subject to customary regulatory approvals and expected to close in Q2 2023.

KNOT Offshore Partners LP Subsidiary Acquires Synnøve Knutsen Vessel Owner

KNOT Offshore Partners LP, through its wholly owned subsidiary KNOT Shuttle Tankers AS, acquired KNOT Shuttle Tankers 35 AS — the owner of the shuttle tanker Synnøve Knutsen — from sponsor Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers AS. The acquisition (financed in part by proceeds from a Torill Knutsen sale-and-leaseback) adds a 153,000 dwt DP2 Suezmax shuttle tanker on a five-year fixed charter to Equinor, extending the Partnership’s fleet and charter coverage while improving liquidity and refinancing flexibility.

A.P. Moller - Maersk Acquires Pilot Freight Services

A.P. Moller - Maersk has completed its acquisition of Pilot Freight Services from ATL Partners and BCI for approximately $1.68 billion (EV $1.8bn post IFRS-16). The deal adds Pilot's North American first-, middle- and last-mile capabilities — including big-and-bulky e-commerce delivery, ~87 stations and ~2,600 employees — to Maersk's landside logistics and end-to-end supply chain offering.

APM Terminals (Maersk) Acquires 37.5% Stake in Jeddah Islamic Port South Container Terminal

Oaktree Acquires Consolidated Chassis Management

Funds managed by the Transportation Infrastructure strategy of Oaktree Capital Management acquired Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM) from the Ocean Carrier Equipment Management Association (OCEMA). The investment provides CCM with expanded capital to support the launch and operations of the South Atlantic Consolidated Chassis Pool (SACP 3.0), fleet upgrades and broader service expansion across major Southeast U.S. ports.
