Triton-backed Sunweb Group to acquire Corendon tour operating activities

Triton will acquire the tour operating activities of Corendon Holiday Group through its portfolio company Sunweb Group, subject to regulatory approvals and employee consultations; terms were not disclosed. The deal covers Corendon’s tour operations in the Netherlands and Belgium, back‑office operations in Turkey and Corendon Dutch Airlines, and aims to combine Sunweb and Corendon to drive scale, digitalization and airline capacity across the European travel market.

Thor / Tourism Holdings JV (TH2) Acquires Roadtrippers and Related RV Travel Platforms

A joint venture called TH2 formed by Thor Industries and Tourism Holdings is acquiring Cincinnati-based Roadtrippers alongside Roadtrippers Australasia, Cosmos (an RV fleet/CRM platform), New Zealand peer-to-peer rental firm Mighway, and CamperMate. Thor is making an initial investment of about $50 million in TH2, which will be headquartered in Cincinnati and led by Airstream’s top executive; financial terms for the acquisitions were not disclosed.

Siris and Evergreen Acquire Travelport Worldwide

Affiliates of private equity firms Siris Capital Group and Evergreen Coast Capital (an Elliott affiliate) completed an all-cash acquisition of Travelport Worldwide Limited for approximately $4.4 billion. Travelport will be privately held by the buyers, delist from the NYSE, and the deal is intended to support investment in the company’s travel commerce platform and continued product and capability development.

VTrips Acquires Southern Vacation Rentals

VTrips, a fast-growing U.S. vacation rental management company, acquired Southern Vacation Rentals on April 1, 2022, adding 1,120 properties and 123 team members to its portfolio and bringing VTrips' total managed properties to more than 5,000. Southern Vacation Rentals' CEO Scott Seay will join VTrips as chief strategy officer as the companies integrate operations while retaining local brand presence.

eSky Group Acquires Thomas Cook

Polish traveltech company eSky Group has acquired the Thomas Cook brand from Fosun Tourism Group to accelerate Thomas Cook's recovery and give eSky a stronger foothold in Western Europe. The deal combines Thomas Cook's brand heritage with eSky's flight inventory, dynamic packaging technology and performance marketing as eSky pushes to expand from a flight platform into a virtual tour operator offering package holidays.
