MOL Chemical Tankers Acquires Fairfield Chemical Carriers for ~$400M

MOL Chemical Tankers, a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), completed the acquisition of Fairfield Chemical Carriers (FCC) in an all-cash share purchase valued at about $400 million. The deal (closed 1 March) brings FCC's 36 stainless-steel chemical tankers into MOLCT's global fleet, creating one of the world’s largest multi-segregated chemical tanker fleets and strengthening MOLCT's service network and capabilities.

Methanex Corporation has completed the acquisition of 100% of OCI Global’s methanol business (OCI Methanol) for a total consideration of USD 1.6 billion on a cash-free, debt-free basis, consisting of approximately USD 1.3 billion of cash and 9.9 million Methanex common shares (≈USD 346 million). The deal includes OCI’s 50% interest in the Natgasoline joint venture and gives OCI a ~12.9% stake in Methanex; OCI also announced plans to return up to USD 1.0 billion to shareholders following the closing.

The transaction expands PSC's Gulf Coast footprint and personnel capacity to better serve refineries, terminals and petrochemical customers; Jimmy Fryoux will join PSC's marine operations team as an advisor.
