Bruker Corporation has acquired Tornado Spectral Systems Inc., a Mississauga, Ontario-based maker of process Raman instruments, to expand Bruker’s biopharma Process Analytical Technology (PAT) product portfolio. Financial terms were not disclosed; Tornado’s HTVS-enabled Raman analyzers and probes will be integrated into Bruker’s spectroscopy and biopharma offerings to enhance process monitoring and quality control capabilities.

Advanced Automation Technologies (AAT), a PE-backed laboratory automation platform supported by Battery Ventures, has acquired TE Instruments (TEI), a Delft-based specialist in combustion elemental analyzers. TEI will join AAT's family of brands (including Skalar Analytical, LCTech, PromoChrom, EST Analytical, tsHR and GERSTEL) to create a unified combustion analyzer division and expand AAT's global sales, service and technical support in environmental, petrochemical and industrial markets.

Calibre Scientific Acquires TechniVal Group Limited

Calibre Scientific has acquired TechniVal Group Limited, a Scotland-based provider and distributor of laboratory equipment and services for life science, R&D, pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers across the United Kingdom. The acquisition gives Calibre Scientific a dedicated services capability—installation, calibration, validation, maintenance and repair of temperature-controlled lab equipment—broadening its product and services offering in the British Isles.

Patricia Industries Acquires Advanced Instruments

Patricia Industries, part of Investor AB, has completed the acquisition of US-based Advanced Instruments, a global leader in osmolality testing instrumentation and consumables, from Windjammer Capital. The deal values Advanced Instruments at an enterprise value of USD 780 million; Patricia Industries injected roughly USD 619–620 million of equity for majority ownership. Advanced Instruments (headquartered in Norwood, Massachusetts) serves clinical, biopharmaceutical and food & beverage markets and reported approximately USD 72 million in sales for the 12 months ending June 30, 2020.

Triton Acquires Techouse AS from Bluewater

(through HORIBA Instruments) acquired MedTest Holdings, Inc., including subsidiaries MedTest Dx, Pointe Scientific, Clinitox Diagnostix and Medical Laboratory Solutions, to expand HORIBA Medical's clinical chemistry and IVD reagent and instrument capabilities. The deal combines HORIBA Medical's Yumizen brand and distribution with MedTest/Pointe Scientific's R&D, manufacturing and regulatory (FDA 510(k)/CLIA) expertise to address multidisciplinary in‑vitro diagnostics (IVD) customer requirements.
