Nidec Withdraws Tender Offer to Acquire Makino Milling Machine Co., Ltd.

Nidec Corporation had commenced a tender offer to acquire shares of Makino Milling Machine Co., Ltd. with the goal of making Makino a wholly owned subsidiary. However, Nidec decided to withdraw the tender offer effective May 9, 2025, citing a possibility of causing damage to the company if an allotment of share options without contribution is implemented and that maintaining the tender offer would be significantly economically unreasonable.
