The deal includes the 1.2 GW Saltend Power Station and positions the buyers to decarbonise flexible power generation — including plans to prepare Saltend to run on up to 30% hydrogen from 2027 and eventual conversion to hydrogen — while supporting Equinor's H2H Saltend hydrogen project.

T1 Energy Acquires Trina Solar's U.S. Manufacturing Assets

(formerly FREYR) acquired the U.S. solar manufacturing assets of Trina Solar Co., Ltd. for $621 million, including a 5 GW, 1.35 million sq. ft. module facility in Wilmer, Texas (now named G1 Dallas). The asset purchase was announced November 6, 2024 and closed December 24, 2024 as part of T1's strategy to build a vertically integrated U.S. solar and battery manufacturing supply chain.

The transaction values Electriq at a pro forma pre-money equity value of $495 million and is expected to provide up to $125 million in capital, with the combined company to be listed on the NYSE under ticker ELIQ in the first half of 2023.
