Kohlberg Acquires Majority Stake in Worldwide Clinical Trials

An affiliate of Kohlberg & Company agreed to acquire a majority stake in Worldwide Clinical Trials, a global contract research organization (CRO) headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The transaction is a recapitalization in which prior investor TJC, L.P. retains a meaningful minority equity stake; terms were not disclosed. Kohlberg will partner with Worldwide's management (Matt Jennings to become chairman) to support continued growth of the company's clinical trial and bioanalytical capabilities.
