Bertram Capital Acquires BCI Burke from The Halifax Group

Bertram Capital has acquired BCI Burke, a Fond du Lac, Wisconsin-based manufacturer of commercial playground and outdoor recreation equipment. Terms were not disclosed; Bertram said it will treat Burke as a new industrial platform and pursue buy-and-build growth, geographic expansion and new product introductions. The Halifax Group sold Burke and management, including CEO Mike Phelan, will remain in place.

Platinum Equity Acquires PlayPower from Littlejohn & Co.

Platinum Equity has completed its acquisition of PlayPower, a designer and manufacturer of recreational and outdoor living systems. The deal purchases PlayPower from Littlejohn & Co.; financial terms were not disclosed.

Generac Acquires PowerPlay Business from SunGrid Solutions

The PowerPlay operation in Cambridge, Ontario will become Generac's dedicated R&D facility for commercial & industrial BESS solutions; the transaction closed on June 26, 2024 and terms were not disclosed.

Ligchine International Acquires The Power Buggy Company

Ligchine International has acquired The Power Buggy Company, the maker of the Power Buggy ride-on material mover. The Power Buggy business will be relocated from Independence, Ohio to Ligchine’s headquarters in Darien, Wisconsin and integrated into Ligchine’s manufacturing, engineering, and customer support operations to expand Ligchine’s construction equipment product lineup.

United Utility Services Acquires BHI Power Delivery from Westinghouse

United Utility Services, a Bernhard Capital Partners-backed utility services platform, has acquired BHI Power Delivery from Westinghouse Electric Company. The acquisition adds BHI’s transmission, substation and distribution capabilities and more than 1,200 employees and 170+ crews, expanding United Utility’s geographic footprint and creating one of the largest independent U.S. transmission & distribution services providers.

Westbridge Capital Acquires Berg Industrial Service, Inc.

Westbridge Capital Ltd. has completed the acquisition of Berg Industrial Service, Inc., a 50-year-old, second-generation family business headquartered in Ontario that designs, installs and services industrial chilling systems and operates an associated engineering and fabrication business. The transaction includes a 10% equity participation by the Westbridge Capital Partners Income Trust. Management continuity was announced with Mark Edwards continuing as CEO, Rebecca Carothers joining as COO, and Michael Turner joining the board.
