Progressive to Acquire Protective Insurance Corporation for About $338 Million

The Progressive Corporation (NYSE: PGR) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Protective Insurance Corporation for approximately $338 million. Progressive will pay $23.30 per share in cash for all outstanding Class A and Class B common shares, with the deal expected to close before the end of the third quarter of 2021 subject to regulatory approvals and shareholder approval.
