Kohlberg & Company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in EN Engineering from growth equity firm General Atlantic. EN Engineering, headquartered in Warrenville, Illinois, is a utility services and engineering firm with over 1,500 professionals serving gas, electric, pipeline and industrial customers; Kohlberg cited its infrastructure services experience to support the company's next phase of growth and geographic expansion.

Cornell Capital Acquires Spectrum Automotive Holdings Corp.

Cornell Capital LLC has acquired Spectrum Automotive Holdings Corp. from Southfield Capital; terms were not disclosed. Spectrum, headquartered in Fairfield, New Jersey, is an agent, marketer and administrator of finance and insurance (F&I) products serving more than 1,400 dealers, OEMs and administrators across the U.S. Southfield Capital had owned Spectrum since 2015 and the management team will remain as significant shareholders alongside Cornell Capital.

Allied Motion Acquires Spectrum Controls, Inc.

Allied Motion Technologies Inc. acquired Spectrum Controls, Inc., a Bellevue, Washington–based designer and manufacturer of industrial I/O modules, displays and communications gateways, for a total purchase price of $70 million (approximately $45 million paid at closing, with $25 million deferred). Spectrum, founded in 1983 with about 72 employees, will expand Allied Motion’s industrial automation product portfolio and engineering capabilities and is expected to be accretive to earnings and gross margin.

Alliance Technical Group Acquires ESC Spectrum

Alliance Technical Group, a Morgan Stanley Capital Partners–backed environmental services platform, has acquired ESC Spectrum, a provider of Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS). The deal adds ESC Spectrum's software, hardware, and field-service capabilities to Alliance's nationwide compliance, stack testing, and laboratory services, accelerating Alliance's CEMS/DAS offering and scale.

The deal (approximately $8.0M cash plus $1.5M escrow and restricted shares) nearly triples AmpliTech's revenue base, adds a global distribution platform and a record combined order backlog of $11.4M, and is intended to accelerate commercialization of AmpliTech's MMIC chip solutions.
