EN Engineering, a national engineering and consulting firm based in Warrenville, Illinois, has acquired Spectrum Engineering Corporation, an Auburn, Indiana–based engineering firm. The acquisition expands EN Engineering’s geographic presence in the Midwest and strengthens its communications engineering, fiber-optic, data center, telecom and SCADA capabilities.

Spectrum, headquartered in Fairfield, New Jersey, is an agent, marketer and administrator of finance and insurance (F&I) products serving more than 1,400 dealers, OEMs and administrators across the U.S. Southfield Capital had owned Spectrum since 2015 and the management team will remain as significant shareholders alongside Cornell Capital.

Allied Motion Acquires Spectrum Controls, Inc.

Allied Motion Technologies Inc. acquired Spectrum Controls, Inc., a Bellevue, Washington–based designer and manufacturer of industrial I/O modules, displays and communications gateways, for a total purchase price of $70 million (approximately $45 million paid at closing, with $25 million deferred). Spectrum, founded in 1983 with about 72 employees, will expand Allied Motion’s industrial automation product portfolio and engineering capabilities and is expected to be accretive to earnings and gross margin.
